Karijini Eco Retreat

Ideally located in the depths of the breathtaking Karijini National Park, awaits the new and unique Karijini Eco Retreat – the first and only permanent up-market, luxury accommodation in the Park! Offering quality accommodation and facilities, this much anticipated development is now open and ready to welcome you to a new world of environmentally friendly, affordable accommodation with a touch of luxury and a taste of genuine mateship and hospitality in outback Western Australia!

The accommodation facility is 100% owned by the local Gumala Aboriginal Corporation which in turn represents the collective interests of the three Aboriginal language groups Niapiali, Bunjima and Innawonga of the Pilbara region.

Accommodation is in the style of eco tents, with choice of standard or deluxe tents. Deluxe units consist of private ensuite facilities.

Attractions are obviously the national park, with particular attention to circular pool, Dales Gorge, Hancock Gorge, Mt Bruce, Red Gorge to name a few.

This is very much an attempt to create a glamping location, West Aussie style. The novelty of luxury tent accommodation, but defientley still maintaining the simpleness and ruralness of the location.

The Pilbara can be is a very pretty part of our country, but is also a very harsh place in Summer. I could not imagine going there in summer, 35-45 degrees with no aircon. Winter camping would be my only option.

This resort definitely encompasses the concept of a great eco resort, owned by the local Gumala Aboriginal Corporation, and with a smattering of glamping elements.

Would not pick it as a typical glamourous camping location, but this would suit a customer that wants to experience the West Australian bush, with a little extra!
