A Good Glamping Read

book

Came across this blogpost by Jean B in SC – Picture Camping and email alert sent to me from Amazon.com, with an interesting posting on new book which would be a good read for a glamper.

Let’s Get Primitive: The Urban Girl’s Guide to Camping by Heather Menicucci is a book that springs to mind when I think of Glamping.

Picture Camping reviews “It is most definitely NOT written for the family camper, but many– even most– of the author’s ideas are still useful even with children involved in the camping experience.

This is not a book to let your children leaf through– as I said, it was not written with kids in mind, and the author mentions sex and drinking quite frankly.”

But it is a funny, practical guide to taking the “rough” out of roughing it-now thats glamping.

Worth a read I reckon.

Times a Changing -Riding Out The Rough Seas

Karen W. Escalera reports that “The good news for our industry is that a wellness lifestyle is still sought after because it’s not seen as excessive, but a means to achieve personal well-being. It’s not a matter of “want”, but a matter of “need” to destress and be a better, healthier you in difficult times.

Figures provided by SpaFinder to Travel Weekly are staggering – the most searched terms on their site since January are: “massage” up roughly by 1900%; “getaways” up more than 400%; “spa retreats” up 235%; “local spa” up roughly 600%; and “tranquility” up 75%.

With that being said, searches for “luxury spa” and “luxury spa resorts” were down, which indicates that spa-ing is becoming more synonymous with essential stress reduction and relaxation, than a luxury pursuit.”

Check out the Old for New Vocab list.

Hopefully people will look to nature and it’s offering to bring about the best destresser there is…Try Glamping.
