Wolwedans nestles into the dunes and is set against a backdrop of extraordinary natural beauty. Located in the heart of NamibRand Nature Reserve, our portfolio of camps provides the perfect base from which to explore vast stretches of awe-inspiring and undisturbed nature.
The Wolwedans Dunes Lodge is perched on top of a dune plateau, overlooking panoramic vistas in all directions and capturing the beauty of the desert in a most memorable way. Building style is a combination of wooden structures and canvas blinds, opening up to the desert beyond.
The lodge reflects the ambience of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. Each of the nine spacious chalets with en-suite bathrooms sports a private verandah, which connects you to vast stretches of untouched sand. Sleeping with your canvas blinds open is just like sleeping under the stars.
The main complex – which has completely been rebuilt during 2003 – consists of two lounges, a number of sundowner decks, a fireplace, a tea deck, a library, the wine cellar and two dining rooms.
The lodge also has a swimming pool, which is suspended above the sand. All communal areas of the lodge open out onto decks with superb views.
The variety of recreational space makes a visit both exciting and relaxing.
This is Pure glamping luxury..
Wolwedans is not a dune hotel or a one night stop over destination, which can be ticked off en-route to the next tourist hot-spot. It is a place to arrive, to be, to learn and unwind, whilst being looked after by a friendly and involved local team. Wolwedans provides an honest, relaxed and down-to-earth atmosphere, free of ‘wannabe’ fanciness and pretence.

Positioned on the edge of a 250-metre high dune, the Dune Camp sleeps a maximum of 12 guests in a totally unspoilt setting. Guests stay in comfortable tents, which are pitched on wooden platforms.
A spacious deck, allowing for safe sleep-outs under the stars and a private bathroom make for a rather civilized camping experience.
The lapa is comprised of a lounge, dining area and an open-plan kitchen, which allows guests to chat to the chef while he prepares a sumptious dinner. The sundowner deck with its fireplace is the central meeting point of the camp, making for a cosy and relaxed ambience.
Whilst the lodge aims at accommodating those guests in need of relaxed comfort and space, the camp provides a more down-to-earth experience. Its rustic but unique atmosphere courts the young and more adventurous traveller.
Wolwedans I would say must offer the most fantastic and luxurious glamping retreat anywhere in the world!
Situated 45 kilometres south of Wolwedans and hugged by massive granite rocks, Boulders Camp is the latest addition to the Wolwedans Collection.
Sleeping a maximum of eight guests in four spacious tents, Boulders is undoubtedly the most exclusive camp at Wolwedans. The main area sports a dining and lounge tent, a breakfast deck and open fire place. Close by is an awesome sundowner spot overlooking the vast beauty of the reserve.

From Boulders Camp you will explore the deep south of NamibRand Nature Reserve. Guided scenic drives, or two to three hour walking safaris treading along the ancient hunting grounds of the bushmen, will happily fill your days.
Absolutely spectacular outdoor experience.
The best kept secret on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, is Rockwater Secret Cove Resort. What was once the Lord Jim’s Resort Hotel, this magical oasis has been transformed into a private outdoor paradise.
The Rockwater Tenthouse Suites, the Sunshine Coast’s most inspiring vacation experience. Nestled among the Arbutus trees, overlooking Secret Cove, each Tent-Suite in this private sanctuary opens onto an endless view of the Pacific Ocean.
Looks like an absolute glamping treat!
When I came across this, I looked and said….the have got to be kidding me.
Drain pipes, from canvas to concrete.
dasparkhotel is conceived and implemented primarily as a hospitality tool.
It is constructed from repurposed, incredibly robust drain pipes.
The external simplicity surrounds an unexpectedly comfortable interior – full headroom, double bed, storage, light, power, woolly blanket and light cotton sleeping bag.
Anyways, looking in to it, well worth a mention, but would not hang my hat on saying that this in luxurious glamping at its best. Just cannot imagine telling the other half, we shacking up in a pipe tonight!
Holy Mackeral, check this place out in Patagonia. 100% Ecocamp deluxe.
Patagonia EcoCamp design was inspired on the traditional Kawesqar hut resembling and igloo and a dome at the same time. The basic premise on designing the EcoCamp was to maintain the nomadic spirit of the ancient inhabitants that moved along the dismembered coast looking for food and shelter. This people lived in harmony with “Mother Nature” and built their huts out of wood, furs and leathers, all organic materials they found on site.
Suite Domes are comfortable 28mt2/ 300 ft2 tented igloo-type double domes built the same way as the ancient native Kaweska’s dwellings. Its structure produces minimal environmental impact while providing an efficient thermal and wind resistant unit, with great exposure to nature in the most magnificent Patagonian setting.
Each dome has a private bathroom, comfortable double or twin beds, and it is heated by a modern low-emission wood stove. In addition, every dome has its own composting device to process waste. Electricity is generated with a micro hydro turbine and solar panels.
EcoCamp’s Suite domes are located in a Lenga (beech) forest next to the existing standard domes but allowing enough distance so as to create a separate and independent atmosphere with more refinement and comfort. The domes are set up with enough space between them to provide adequate intimacy and introspection.
